Mark your calendars for the 14th edition of the Festival
NOVEMBER 1 - 3 & 8 - 10, 2019
The Austin Polish Film Festival (APFF) has been celebrating Polish cinematic and poster arts since 2006. Once a year in the Fall, we present award winning works in many different genres by both accomplished and starting filmmakers. Our guests include directors, actors, screenwriters, producers. Since 2015, APFF has been hosting an international short film competition open to independent filmmakers from around the world. Traditionally, a Polish poster art exhibit is an integral part of the festival events. Often, the audience of the festival benefits from historical introductions by invited out of town guests or scholars from local academic centers.
Please visit About Us page to learn more about the APFF.
In 2018, the official festival poster was designed by Ryszard Kaja. The exhibit of his wonderful work, including posters from the series "Poland" in honor of the centennial celebrations of Poland's regained independence, delighted the festival audience who saw it at the AFS Cinema and the Blanton Museum of Art.
Ryszard was planning to come to Austin the following year with an even larger exhibit.
We were devastated to hear that on April 17, 2019, Ryszard Kaja died in Poland. His beautiful, thoughtful, witty images remind us of who he was and make our world a better place.
